Slabs and Footings
The most cost-effective foundation for a residential building is the traditional slab-and-footing foundation. These foundations use a concrete slab as the base and connect separate footings, typically reinforced with steel, to strengthen their core. The traditional foundation pour here in the Carolinas is the t-shape. Where footings are placed below the frost line, with walls on top of that. The slab is then poured between them and cures in place. Our foundation team is well-versed in slab and footing foundation pours and will ensure that the separate pours bond and cure correctly to help prevent frost heave or cracking, leaving you with a perfect foundation for years to come.

Block Slab
Block slab is a durable foundation-pouring technique often used when the foundation is on uneven terrain, connects to an existing slab, or seeks to add elevation. This technique combines a concrete-block perimeter wall with a poured on-grade concrete slab in the interior. We are experts at pouring block slabs and will ensure that the vapor barriers and insulation are installed properly to eliminate the risk of frost heave and the damage it can cause.

Monolithic Slab
Monolithic slab foundations are an all-in-one solution in which the concrete footings and floor slabs are poured simultaneously. This kind of foundation is great for the Carolinas, as we have stable soil conditions and a shallow frost depth when compared to the Midwest or New England. Plus, for our clients, monolithic slab pours will be more cost-effective because you have less material handling and fewer labor hours to pay for, since you do not need to make multiple pours and cures. When done properly, a monolithic slab will have a shallow slab and turned-down edges, creating a great foundation to build upon.
